FAQ – Rye Beauty

We like to call our products brow care that double as styling tools. Our founder Michele Holmes has over a decade of experience helping people with their eyebrow growth issues. Hormone based products and natural growth serums claiming “growth” don’t always work for everyone. We create our brow products with a blend of ingredients that have a long history and data showing the ability to stimulate follicles and help promote growth for some groups. We are taking the brow care approach and steering away from growth serum promises that don’t work for everyone. Many of our customers have reported healthy brow growth after using our products and we are thrilled for them!

Our formulation process is intentionally slow to make clean products that really work. Our products contain clean natural ingredients and some very safe synthetics that are necessary to the stability of the formula. We are constantly looking at ingredient quality and their environmental impact. We promise to make safe products and constantly improve our formulas as new ingredient choices become available.

Yes! All of our products are vegan and cruelty free. We will never test on animals or use animal products in our formulas. Our incredible test group is made up of our employees, beauty industry insiders, beauty writers, clean beauty retail buyers, formulators and friends. We take testing very seriously hence taking years to launch products.

Our founder Michele is our most sensitive tester. She is allergic and sensitive to a lot of cosmetics and skin care that don't bother anyone else! We also test our products on a large group of humans to create products that are non-sensitizing and safe for most. All products containing essential oils, plants, fruit extracts and texture ingredients can cause an allergic reaction in some groups. If you have any known allergies, please read the ingredients label thoroughly or do a patch test before use.

Our green product housing is made out of PET plastic and you can recycle the tube, cap and rod when it is empty. Simply pull the brush head off the rod, toss in the trash, then recycle the rest. Our box is made from sugarcane paperboard which is sustainable and tree free which helps reduce greenhouse emissions and global warming.

We promise to constantly evolve and choose more eco friendly packaging as options become available. When we started our packaging journey in 2018 there weren’t many options for eco friendly mascara tubes and components. At the time we thought about using glass tubes, but didn’t want to pass high cost materials onto the consumer. We are excited to share our next packaging batch is already in the works and will be made from a more environmentally conscious material.
